I had a blast fishing the Angler's Marine Owners Tournament on Saturday. We drew over 90 boats and the lake lived up to the expectation. I think San V is my new favorite lake. My partner and I, Team Bling, fished in the Master's division where we managed to catch over 17 pounds which was good for 4th place and first big fish with a 6.77.
All of our fish were caught in 40-50 feet of water over and in trees on a drop shot. We caught over 20 fish with most of them weighing in the 2-2.5 pound range. All of the fish were caught off the graph, meaning that we saw every fish on our Lowrance and dropped on their head with a dropshot. There is no mapping software for the lake with contour lines, so we have been making our own maps using SoanrChartsLive which uses the WiFi in the Lowrance connected to the Navionics app in my phone. This allows us to make live maps of what is under the water. It is amazing the number of trees under the water. Congrats to the winners which had over 20 pounds.
Angler's Marine runs a great tournament and the paybacks are 100%.
