Yes I remember it from back in the day . Always wanted to fish one of their get togethers but never made it down to one . The information flowed freely back then between members .

Those were the days. Home of the Nutcase Classics, never got to fish one, but do remember the dubious 'Numbnut' award.

Of course!!! How about a roll call of all former NCBF members and "lurkers" !
The weird thing is how much social media has changed. I know there are many folks who still visit this current off shoot . I have just been waiting for the website to come full circle!

I remember many sleepless nights when I would crawl on here and ALWAYS someone would be available to talk about our passion of fishing. I sure learned a lot from folks on NCBF about Life, Family and Fishing.

Jerry was the best. Got to know him on NCBF and then met him when I took the family up to Shasta on a houseboat trip. At the time he was working part time for the sheriff patrolling the lake at night. He met our houseboat on the way out of the marina and showed us the best place to moor it for the night and then came back the next night to take me night fishing. Best night of catching spots ever!

Only fished one nutcase event on McClure. Took the wife (she doesn't fish) for a Dec. 30 tourney. She was pregnant with our daughter. Daughter was born three weeks later. That daughter just turned 16. Can't believe it was that long ago.
Wife caught the only two fish that day. Still hear about that one.

Information flowed pretty freely back in the day.

I used to love reading your old postings, and learning.
With how much money is involved in competitive fishing now, i don't think you'll see a lot of sharing on the forum anymore.

I think the only places you'll learn stuff now from sharing is either on Cooch's facebook page, Bobby Barrack's page, or on Tactical Bassin's page.
Or right here, in the WB online magazine.

I moved to Fl. Joined a club full of old guys (older than me 65). First tournament the guy I shared a room with brought a pop r style bait and a devils horse over to me. Said this is what I catch fish on , give them a try. You don't see that much anymore. I decided I liked this club .

Still fishing, still learning

Wow....I'm amazed I remembered my password. I check in on the site every so often and just the other day I was thinking about the old bunch and all the good times we had...The days we had could never be duplicated, I don't care how hard we try...

I dug around a found some stuff from the day...thanks to all the old nutcases for so many great memories !! And to the nutcases we have lost, thoughts and prayers will always be with you...

A few photos of the good times..

I fished as a non with TonyB for my very first NutCase, out of Orwood. I think it was the second one. Bob Santora won TopNut.

Some of us are still lurking around once in a while. I have an NCBF Hat somewhere, and a lot of Nutcase memorabilia like stickbait showed. I remember when NCBF formed a team of "no-bodys" and won the Top Six tournament on the Delta. Lotta fun and a lot of learning from each other. I welched out on the Nutase even last month due to becoming a mostly fair weather fisherman. Guess I am not the Nutcase I once was.

There were a few Nutcase rallies on the delta. Jan 3, 1998 was the first rally and it was a cold, foggy winter day. We restricted the event to only 3 bays in Disco. As you would imagine, the bite was real slow. I won the event with two fish and Cooch came in second I believe. Had a huge pot luck afterwards and it was awesome being able to put faces with names and making new friends.

Here is a link from 2008 reminesing about Nutcase events.
