California Delta 3/19/17

Post by ElGuapo »

Launched out of Russo's around 8 and fished the north and east facing sides. Started fishing deeper water (5-6') but moved shallow when there was no action. Tried to force feed them a jig for a couple hours with no takers. Switched to a drop shot just to figure out where they were holding and got bit almost immediately.

Started out with a 6-2 (see video) then a 3 and then a 8 more small bucks after that. Didn't see any bedding fish but it was overcast and difficult to see. Only caught males up shallow.

Nice!

Sweet new boat too.
Fear does not prevent death, it prevents life.

You've never lived until you've almost died and for those who have fought for it, life has a whole new flavor that the protected will never know....

Thanks Mark!

I use a Tatula 701MFS (7' medium power, fast action) with 10# braid to 8# flouro. Daiwa Procyon 2500 reel. Pretty inexpensive. I think the whole combo was less than $250 a couple years ago.
