I assume a broken rod or piston. I wanted to take it down to have it checked out to see what it would cost to fix. I was close to pulling the trigger on a rebuilt optimax but would rather test the waters first to see what I could get for it.

Yes it's a 2.5 liter carbureted
No hour meter so I could only guess. Power head was replaced in 2004 maybe 100 hours to 150 per year. And yes I would separate engine if the engine is what you wanted.
