Help Needed Motorguide 24v 71#

My Partner bought a used Motorguide 24 volt 71 Thrust Trolling motor on Craigslist (Strike 2, Craigslist and Motorguide) I am only a Minn Kota Guy. Well seems like he needs a new cable or some sort of adjustment. Pedal goes up and down but does not steer? He lives in the Concord area, but could drop off. Or know someone local. He knows to pay, and expects to. Just needs its fixed.

Go to Hook & Ladder in Oakley. You have a broken cable as my old motor guide same problem. Check with minn kota man in Dublin he might be able to help 925 829 5977

I received some Great advise on personal emails, Thank You for all your help. I removed the top plastic head cover and found the round plastic gear with teeth on it Broke, and cable was not attached around gear anymore. Bought a new plastic gear online and will be ready to go when it arrives. Thank YOU Tracy and Len.
