My dad and I are thinking about making the six hour trip to CL Friday and fishing Saturday. We haven't fished it in a few years and the reports I've seen are a few weeks old.
If anyone has any info it would really help us out. PM or a post here would be awesome. Thanks guys

Re: Clear lake info
Probably not going to get a lot of info about CL for this weekend. Big 180 boat tournament up there Sat and Sun. Just a heads up

Bite has been slow but you can catch fish, just slow down and fish a senko ,drop shot ,shakey head or carolina rig. Reaction bait bite has slowed.
BBT toc this weekend.

Sounds like the lack of grass has turned it into a finesse lake.clearlakeoutdoors wrote:Bite has been slow but you can catch fish, just slow down and fish a senko ,drop shot ,shakey head or carolina rig. Reaction bait bite has slowed.

We caught numbers on a drop shot, but bigger fish on a Wadda Bomb, a mop style flippin jig. Dark blk/blue with the muddy water. be sure to fish around the shad, not the little minnows. Our biggest, a 4 pounder, came on a white vibrating jig (Claymore) next to schools of shad. Good Luck!
