Mapping

Postby drdetroit3 » Tue Feb 06, 2018 7:26 pm

I have a Elite 7 with sonar and downscan with a navinics chip. My question is I fish a small lake not on the chip, is it possible to save the sonar log and map the lake?

Hi Mike. If the unit is a newer Elite 7 with wireless, it is possible to map the with the Navionics app connected to your graph. The app on your phone or ipad will get the depth reading from your graph and map the lake right on your app. You will have the new data on your app and it will then send to Navionics to update the map for that lake. Then just update your card and it is on your graph.

Here is a shot of what SonarChart Live looks like on the app.

It's pretty cool and I have done the exact same thing on a little lake that had zero coverage before.

Let me know if you have any questions.

My Elite 7 is 3 years old, don't think it has wireless? I will check today and get the app. Thanks
