Spotlight Scan Images

I have tried everything but do not get any good images on spot light scan with Gen 2 HDS 9 Touch. I go super slow and boat is not moving. Just getting blurry images. I tried scanning a set of trees i knew about and got nothing like the videos I seen on line. I adjusted Contrast as Lowrance Customer service rep recommended. Down image works great. What else could be wrong?

Also if I adjust depth while in spot light scan the screen goes black. I have to switch between down image and back to spot light to get images again.
