Anything 4 power or a 6 power on the crankbait rods. Dobyns champion extreme 784 or a Powell 806cb will work well; the longer rods help with longer cast and for pitching well.. Usually go 65lb braid to 15-20lb fluoro, it will snap the bait out of the weeds and drive the hook home on bites.

Tight lines,

Dobyns champion extreme DX744 Gen 2 hands down. Has enough tip in the rod to let the fish eat the bait, but enough backbone to bury the Hook into a big fishes mouth. Fast action rod with good tip for precision casts. Daiwa Zillion 100HA 6.3:1 Reel 50 seaguar braid to 20 tastu floro leader.

I agree with two of the previous posters...Dobyns DX 744 and the Champion Extreme 784.

Lamiglas Infinity 735c, just the right amount of tip to feel the bait work and let the fish eat it and enough backbone to pull the big ones out of cover as well as get extra distance on the cast.

I've been throwing them over the last year on a Zodias 7-2 MH, fast action - same rod I use for swim jigs and small swimbaits. As others have said, having just a bit of give in the tip allows you to better feel the blade working.

Dobyns Champion 736cb Glass. More than enough power to bury a hook but still forgiving to keep a fish buttoned up.

Dobyns 736Glass is legit. Definitely worth a look.
