Boat carpet
I have a new appreciation for guys that lay boat carpet when I first got a estimate of 1400 bucks I thought that was the craziest thing ever , after laying carpet and getting covered in glue I salute you if you lay carpet for a living . This is my 88 ranger 393V built the casting deck up with aluminum plate and built in two hatches and a rod locker that holds 24 8 foot rods using ABS pipe . Now I just have to strip and carpet the back deck I might make it out on the water by next years spawn at this rate .

Re: Boat carpet
This is the when I decked it out of aluminum sheet and cut out all the bad glass areas it is a 30 year old boat I was worried it was going to be bow heavy but the glass I cut out versus the aluminum I put in was only 100 pounds different when I drove it through the scales after I rebuilt the deck . I wanted a new ranger but my better half wouldn’t let me spend 65k on a boat so I gave her a face lift .
Re: Boat carpet
Really nice work, guessing you're a tradesman of some type. If you replace the jockey box let us know where you found an outlet, I sure can't

I fabbed it up with a sheet metal brake from harbor freight and welded it up

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the boat.

Nice Work. Looks Great.
My 97 Viper is probably due, and since I've had only a little experience with glue all over the hands I already know I would like someone else to do it for me! Hopefully where ever I get it done does as nice of a prep and finish job as you have done.

After doing the whole boat it’s really not that hard at all it’s just taking the time to prep I would do it again now I just need a new fortrex and I’m on the water
Re: Boat carpet
I paid $900 to some dude in Walnut Creek over 20 years ago to re-carpet a 1984 16' Bayliner bass boat. The cost of the carpet alone was $200, so i didn't mind paying $700 for the labor. I respect your desire and ability to do the job yourself but based on the fact your boat is three full feet longer than mine was and over 20 years later, $1400 sounds like a smokin deal on today's standards. You did nice looking work on your boat.
