HDS 8 have a compass

The HDS 8 is an older Key Pad unit that I haven't played with for some time so my memory is not good on that older menu setup. One thing you can do is go to the Chart screen and select "North Up" for the map orientation. This way you know which way is North. Therefore the bottom of the screen is South and so on.
