Re: Smelly Jelly help
V8 juice works for skunk smell on clothes and people, I'm sad to report. Maybe it would work on that stuff.
Dish washing liquid cuts oil. Soaking it in warm water and dishwashing liquid might do it, if you wring it out and change the water often. Then put it in the washing machine on hot/warm BY ITSELF! Unless, of course, you want a divorce.

Re: Smelly Jelly help
I had a jar fall and land on my dog. The dog then licked it to get off. The dog went nuts, my wife went nuts and if he hadn't smelled so bad I would have laughed myself sick.
It took two baths and one was with Dawn detergent before we could stand to be around him.
Good luck.

Sorry man, but...the hands have to come off.
no, actually...I read the following on the 'net. Works on skunk smell, may work here (just replace the "pet" part with your hands):

hope it helps...One idea is to make a mixture of a quarter cup of baking soda per quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Add to this a little liquid detergent and you're ready to wash that smell right out of your pet.

Is it washable? If so, try washing it in the washer on gentle.

Re: Smelly Jelly help
Yeah there is some stuff pet stores smells to get rid of pet smells (pets oil glands are what cause the stink)...thats all I can think may work. Some times its shampoo and some times a liquid you spray onto bedding or couches that the animal uses it may work for your bag.....

CJ, had the same experience, soak that sucker in water/baking soda for a couple of days. Worked for me.

Re: Smelly Jelly help
Try the baking soda/peroxide/detergent mixture - soak it overnight or longer, then maybe take it to a dry cleaner to see if they can do any deoderizing on it!
Another thing you might want to try is a product called Skunk-Buster
BTW - thanks for hooking me up at the lake there. Was just getting ready to call you Sat, then Jason got zapped by a wasp and we had to go in and deal with that! I really appreciate your help though!
Did you make it to the Heart concert Sat?

Hmmm - I guess Smelly Jelly works!
I have read this thread with some amusement - I have had the same trouble - my socks become my rags to wipe my hands if there is nothing else. Taking my wife out to dinner usually works after she discovers - 'er, smells them! I think you guys are giving Smelly Jelly a fine endorsement however - it works on your baits and sticks to 'em!!

Pet stores sell a product called Nature's Mericle. It will get out the smell of anything from skunk to cat urine. Try it.

Amusing attractant story...
Mega-strike comes in a squeeze tube...
So does Bananna boat sunscreen...
Don't confuse the two...my son rubbed mega-strike on my wife's back! We were in trouble for WEEKS...(I wouldn't have been in trouble if I hadn't asked her to swim near the tules for awhile)
Bones, just give up and give the bag and it's contents to me...I'll take care of it for ya!

Re: Hmmm - I guess Smelly Jelly works!
I had a similar problem with MegaStrike. The squeeze bottle squeezed all over everything else that was in my tackle bag. Stuff was all over everything in the bag but the bad itself. Then I took it out and laid it on a shelf in my garage where it appears a rodent went to work on it and ate the stuff container and all. I think it then went and croaked somewhere as it's not in the garage anymore.
