Ok, I'm not a raider fan but do like their backup qb Walter. Their defense also looks really well, I'm curious to know if you guys think the raiders will make the playoffs this year based on their pre season performances?

Pre-season is hard to determine. That being said, I didn't see any glaring problems with the team. I don't think they are playoff bound but should have a very respectable season.

And this is coming from a non Raiders fan!!

being a non-raiders fan i can tell you they will be lucky if they win 7 games. and those are just facts, they suck. but so do my 49ers. i'm starting to get very impatient with alex smith. our number one pick looks like it should have be aaron rodgers. what happened to the glory days? Last year the Raiders sucked! LOL They are indeed an improved team and with Art back at the helm and this Ryan guy's defense. Looks to me like yer gonna see a much improved team that will surprise folks. Hell, I took em as my DF/SP in my fantasy league. I took Chicago last year under the same speculations, if the Raiders turn out ta be 1/2 as good as Chicago was, that's a plus of huge perportions!

Brooks, Moss, Porter and Jordan, this could be a very explosive foursome guys! In fact, from what I see, it is the BEST offfense in the west right at this moment, in preseason AND on paper! All they gotta do is break LaDainian's leg and dawg pile Antonio Gates, then goose neck LJ in KC and then ring Tatum and Mike's Bell up in Denver! These 3 teams are one dimensional on offense this year. LOL

None of these West teams got a QB whorth a ****! Plummer, who's ole, "Jake the Nervous Snake" gonna toss it to? Sharp and Lelie are gone, Smith is in his 13 season and all but gone. Give em credit, they did git Terrel and Walker, nice pick ups. Trent Green in KC, wanna bet he's replaced by the rookie before midseason? And poor old TonyG is going down hill fast, 12 year veteran Eddie Kinneson is just a nobody at best, after that it's a who's who of 5th rate fantasy wanna be's that never got picked in 17 round drafts! And who the hell is QB'n in SD these days? Breese left fer the Big Easy, great move for him, he's now got Bush, Duece, Stallworth and Horn, much more talent than what he left behind in SD. So let's see, Rivers, Feeley or Whitehurts, oh yeah, all three of those guys strike fear in my defense! Run, run, run with LT, after that Gates and McCardell scare nobody this year! HAR!


Yes, I have been a Raider fan since the days of Frank Yule field whn my cramps took me to my first game, yup, the same guy who taught me how ta bass fish, inttroduced me to Raider football. The man had a penchant for partaking in the greatest of activities. But after Davis took em to LA, I kinda lost that magic love and found Fantasy football, now I am a true fan of the Entire NFL and the proud owner of Cooch's Chia Pets! Three time BAFFL champions! I spend a lot of time looing at all the teams prior to our draft, soo all this is purty fresh in my head. Right now, the Oakland Raiders are in a lot better shape in this division than most people might think for the new season!

It was ugly see'n Pittsburg win it last year, especially after the Raiders blew up against Tampa Bay. The Raiders gooda been on an all time pedestal at that point, looking back at Piitsburg, Dallas and the 49ers. 4 wins and two losses in the big game, I would hate to be a Buffalo or Denver fan, could not handle all them attempts and failures. It was good to see Elway git his though, I just wish ole Jim Kelly coulda got his, oh well! It's all about SuperBowls boys, how many you got in yer wallet? HAR! HAR! HAR!

I played golf in the QB shootout this weekend out of Buckingham,( by clearlake) Played with BIG OTIS SISTRUNK...and Wendel Tyler...Jerry Rice was in the group behind us, we had a blast!....Montana was there,Dwight Clark, D Lamonica he is a big time fisherman..The highlight was chipping one in for EAGLE!!! I think I am going to take up golf again and give up fishin!.....

I had the first pick in our draft this year and took Shawn A, then had to wait 22 picks, took Eli and Jamal Anderson. Then 22 picks later I git Dominac Davis, then R. Moss as the 1st pick in the 6th. 22 picks later I git TJ of Cincy and Crumpler. 22 picks later I git Dante Stallworth and TJ Ducket. Purty happy with my first 9 rounds considering I'm in a 12 man league. Also the first time we've picked so early before the season starts.

I think that the Raiders will most likely be 9 and 7 at the end of the year , just a bit better than 500. and now that They lowered the prices of the Raider tickets, Maybe they won't be blacked out on sundays anymore. They is only important to a team fanatic who is jealous of another teams accomplishments! Bottom line is, when was the last time your team made it to the Super Bowl? Besides, any real football fan knows, it's not the "best" team that wins, it's the one who get's the breaks and capitolizes on them.

Hmmmm, so WC, ya feel the same way about Mike Reynolds or Denny Brauer? Seems ta me, these two guys have made it to the Super Bowl of fishing, The BASS Masters Classic, and finished dead last. It has not tarnished their careers.

Bottom line is, since the inception of the NFL, the Oakland Raiders are a team that has put teams in the Superbowl over the decades. They are a team, along with the Steelers, Broncos, Pats and Dolphins, who have represented the AFC 5 or more times. These 5 teams represent 27 o the 40 teams to reach the Super Bowl for the AFC.

I know a lot more about the Raiders than you Son! First off, most lopsided win was XXIV, 1990 SF 55 Denver 10! Rich Gannon only had 5 interceptions that game! Last I looked, both Dallas and Carolina still own the penalty record with 12!Check out that Denver D in 1990! Buffalo owns the most turnovers in a game with 9! LOL
