Ranger Trailer Hubs

Post by fishaddict22 »

Requesting any helpful insight on trailer hubs leaking by. I've had the system flushed and supposedly hubs resealed, yet the problem with water in the oil bath keeps occcuring. Getting really expensive on the checkbook! I appreciate it!

The spindle needs to be spotless. No grooves or anything that will damage/cut the new seal. The new seal needs to be lubed so it doesn't burn with the fiction of the spindle. And the surfaces on the inside of the hub need to be clean and smooth. The seal should have some kind of sealant on the surface that fits into the hub. I'm told that a tiny bit of water is normal and it doesn't take much to turn the lube milky colored. Hope this helps. Bob
