Re: MERCURY SUCKS!!!!!

I appreciate everyone's responses both positive and negative. I should have initially mentioned that I was not angry when I posted the original message. I should have asked for people to lean back, take a deep breath/exhale and go to your happy place before responding. Re-read my post taking into co...

Re: MERCURY SUCKS!!!!!

I figured I would hurt a lot of Mercury guys' feelings but I am not targeting them. I don't understand the malicious political and geographical insults? Yet, I understand those who are loyal to Mercury, seriously. I was not loyal to Yamaha until after my recent experience with Mercury/Brunswick. In ...

MERCURY SUCKS!!!!!

I had a 2014 Mercury PRO XS 250 on my 2014 Ranger 521c I bought 6 months ago. I had to sell the boat due to moving to Hawaii. I didn't realize that the warranty had expired on April 17th of this year. I will take fault for not researching sooner but I had no intention of selling the boat ever and my...

Re: Who uses Lithium Pro batteries?

[quote="scottsweet"]These batteries are proving to be a game changer. There are a couple things to remember: 3. The newer Rangers have a Perko switch to add a second 12V battery to the starter (in parallel) to jumpstart the big motor. If you have only the 12V cranking and 36V trolling, tha...

Line Conditioner

I had been using KVD line conditioner for mono, fluro and braid. It worked fine but seemed a bit costly for me since I have quite a few rods/reels. I found that you may use hair conditioner with water (not sure of the ratio but I'm guessing about 1:10). Put in a regular spray bottle with a trigger a...

Does anyone know what happened to Jim and Dixie at Vahalla's in Oroville, CA? If so, please PM their contact info. I used to buy their plastic for pouring worms back in the 90's and they are no longer at the shop. Thanks

The extended cold weather is just going to slow down the growth of the bass this year. Due to cold water temps which directly affect shad attrition, they may have a little less food. Carp were introduced into US from Europe as a game fish. You can still catch bass in the same areas where carp are spawning, it just might be a little slower than usual in terms of action. In that case, I grab a spoon and toss out and catch carp for fun. They fight like crazy.

If so, why don't we just have a big beach party where ever they are found. Giant iron pot with a jug of white whine and chopped onions and garlic over a camp fire. Another smaller pot with salted butter melting to dip them in. Loaves of sourdough bread and lots of your favorite beverages.
