Saw today that the FLW Everstart on Toledo Bend in TX only had about 85 boats! So yeah, you can read all you want into the low turnouts! But I blame the economy.

Good luck Dan! It's like trying to get people to go see troubled waters and help stop the canals! I went to the viewing in Stockton and expected it to be full of angry anglers! I throw mine on a Phenix MBX707H with 15-17lb floro! I like added lenth 7'7" for hook sets! I think any heavy powered 7'2"-8' rod would work just fine! If your fishing it through a lot of grass than switch to 30-50lb braid!

For me, Definitely the Rover!! Far better for me. The Vixen I always had problems it seemed like with the hooks tangling each other. Not near as much with the rover. And the Rover is cheaper and has I think 3-4 sizes to match the hatch or just go BIG.

Re: How to avoid snags on Delta?
I think that the best way for you to avoid snags would be to save the money your loosing in lures and find a cheap used float tube. You can probably get one for around $50.00. That would put you on the other side of the grass and rocks with an even better advantage than a boat at times. You can go p...

Mark, check out the Phenix Ultra MBX. I use the 706 MH spinning rod myself for finesse jigs. The lightest I throw though is 1/4oz I would look at maybe 700M for the lighter stuff. I'd be more than happy to drop one off for you to use next time I'm passing through to Fresno. Let me know! Or better ye...

James, take a look at fly blanks. I think what your looking for would be about a 7wt 10' two piece blank. Have it custom wrapped for as a spinning rod. Try a fast action or extra fast action blank. Best bet would be to look at Mudhole.com or swampland.com. Maybe give them a call and see what they wo...

Since your going to Fishermans I will give you several ideas. For straight up and down jigging get the P-Line minnows in white chrome and chartreuse chrome, and some Hopkins Spoons! Both in 3/4 & 1oz. For casting and jigging get some flutter spoons and the DUH spoons! Both have a wider profile. ...
