Hey Guys
I don't get to surf this site as much as I used to, but I just got done listing my Skeeter in the Classifieds section and I just thought I'd stop in and say hello! I've had an absolute blast on tour but I sure do miss fishing the Golden State - CL, Delta, Oroville, Coyote, LBC, San Luis, Pacifica......

Mike,
I think the MLF format is an "all you can catch" deal. In other words every fish landed gets weighed, added to their score, and released on the spot. 58lbs for 5 would be insane!

Re: Powell Football Jig Rod
Sushi,
I highly recommend the Powell Endurance 714 C for heavier football jigs. I started using this rod last year and I now prefer it over my 734 when jig fishing. I showed this rod to a couple of my buddies and they too have one rigged up every time the jig bite is on!

Sushi, I am a Pointer 100 throwing son of a gun and have a few suggestions for you: First, make sure you are throwing that ripbait on a good quality fluorocarbon line. I prefer Seaguar Tatsu and Invisx. Then, depending on water clarity, match your rod to your line size. At Clear Lake and the Delta w...

Re: punching
yj, Yes, "punching" is the newest trend on the river. I went out last Sunday and it sure seemed like everybody I ran by had a big stick in their hands. It takes time on the water to figure out how they eat it. My best advice is, before you get to the river, make sure you have the best equi...

Nevadaboy, I would suggest 2 Powell rods for ripping: Powell Endurance 695 CB - This rod is 6'9" of ripping thunder. I use this rod exclusively November-March while throwing baits like Pointer 100's and 128's. Make sure you use a good quality fluorocarbon like Seaguar TATSU or my affordable fav...

Re: Seaguar Tatsu Fluorocarbon Line
You get what you pay for. Seaguar Tatsu is the strongest and softest fluorocarbon line made, period. This is because Seaguar is the only manufacturer that extrudes 2 different 100% fluorocarbon resins into one solid piece. The harder interior resin is for tensile strength and longevity, while the so...

Both great lines! Abrazx- Awesome for short line flipping and pitching cover and slicing through delta elodea. Love the 25lb test. Invisx- Very pliable and excellent on spinning reels. Prolly the best all around affordable 100% fluorocarbon you'll find in your local shop. I use this line 80% of the ...
