when I get stressed I only look at the unit for depth and go back to finding fish the way we used to.
a lot to be said for gut feeling versus new electronics

I started fishing the pro am events with won bass as well as club fishing back in the late 90's. I have fished with some of the best and not so good anglers. 2004 ranger 225 optimax probably 2 k in in besides reg maintenance bought it 9 months old with 10 hours on the big motor used to fish at least 15 tourneys a year down to about 5 . Original carpet looks almost new. besides batteries oil changes and occasional little things it runs when its 25 degrees...

I use the cylinders almost always and I prefer 3/16 oz unless its windy and cant get to the bottom then move to 1/4 and I so keep 1/2's in the boat.

So Cal is line shy and finesse waters.

I run ac Delco gel batteries but i run a 3 bank charger and the cranking battery separate from the 3 bank charger. run all day run electronics and a 109 lb 36 volt trolling motor. never had an issue. you have to charge them separately but seems to work for me. good luck.

watch nitros I have heard of a lot of issues with them in general. not saying its a bad deal but maybe look at a champ or ranger. I drove them all before I bought my first boat. Scott

folex works great but if you get the right carpet cleaner he can do a great job. My ranger is 2004 and I have never replaced the carpet which looks awesome and I have mine done every 3 months when I do my house.

they say not too but I have my carpet cleaners do the boat with low water and it comes out great I have never had an issue . my boat is 2004 and carpet looks brand new.

its been a little up and down because its feeding diamond and perris. it changes from trip to trip but hasn't been drastically low on any of my trips.

I saw it in the paper . Wow broad daylight it wouldn't surprise me if it was a water rat on a jet ski but most of us who run bass boats have a little more respect and common sense. My condolences to the families. Guys watch around the corners and don't take off till its safe.
