The Pre-Spawn is On

The weather is just starting to stabilize here in the Inland Northwest. After a cold spring, it is finally getting nice and the bass are starting to bite. I made it out yesterday and found tough fishing for numbers but they were all quality fish. This is about the time every year when I realize we p...

All of the baits you mentioned that work in Michigan will work here. I've fished both here and in Michigan and you will see some similarities. I would definitely bring some craw colored crankbaits. I'm sure many of you use Google Earth to find humps, backwaters and roadbeds. They show up pretty easily especially with the time feature that allows you to scroll through low water times. It has a been a slow spring for me fishing wise around Spokane. I normally have had many successful trips by now, but the weather seems to be taking a little longer to warm up this year. There are tons of great fisheries in Oregon and Washington. The Columbia is the biggest and most well known. The Hood River area has giants. The Willamette and John Day are also very good. For lakes, I'd look into Henry Hagg or Tenmile for largemouth. Good luck!
