I'll second the Mucks. Problem with me for tennis shoes or any other leather and gortex is when they get wet they become heavy and stay cold.

As a good friend Mark I have to disagree with you. You only get better when you fish against the big boys. Deep release gadget ?
Partner told me he saw a gadget on web awhile back that you could release a single bass down to desired depth , then release. It was a 6-12 oz. weight w/ wire .You would attach to bottom of mouth and it had a quick release to pull weight back up. Any body seen this or any other ideas besides a cage?...

Re: Single Vs. Dual Console?
I've had duals on 4 boats since 1988. I recently took out the console on my ranger 521. What a big differance. My normal non -boater likes it out too.Luckily I can put it back in, takes about 15 minites. I did this for my dad on a 3 day clear lake trip. Got it home and took it out immediatly.

Gear ratio is why you want a larger spool. The smaller spools won't have much line left (long cast 25lb).hook a toad with alot of line out . Problems ! Are your talking about really steep ramps like whimpys or dels/ riversend? If so I have to bring to trailer 2-3 ft higher , drive the boat up on bunks ,then back the trailer down while powering up.

Re: Should I choose lms-520 w/ gps or LCX 27c ?
if your going to use the gps feature alot then go with the x27 upfront . main reason is for split screening. 522 will to hard to see.
If you just fish locally you don't need the hard drive, save you a couple bucks.
ps
If i was financing a new boat i'd put 27's on both ends.

Lot of guys would like these. i just fished 2 t-shoots there this past weekend. Fleming would be a better ramp in that blue oaks having only 2 lanes can get really crazy. 7-1pm gives a better top water bite and forget about breakfast, people are tired and will want to go home.

i had a 2000 201 cobra and i believe they are the same bottom with a different cap. mine was around 3" above pad with a 25 trophy and would hit the limiter on a light load. top gps speed was 72. I would think 3.5 inches w/ the 24 would be a good start and might see 65-68 gps.
