Tournaments at Bullards?
I'm a non-tournament fisherman and was wondering if there are any tournament going on this Friday, June 2nd at Bullards. The launch ramp and parking gets pretty crowded and I want to avoid it as well as being out of the tournament guys way on the lake. Thanks

Re: 20 or 21 footer and we ain't talking about subway sandwi
Wow! Lots of great advice and tips. One thing for certain is it really sucks getting caught in rough water with an old smaller boat. Happened to me at Clearlake twice coming around the narrows. I wasn't sure if the water coming from the bilge pump was from the lake or from me! However, regarding the...

Re: 20 or 21 footer and we ain't talking about subway sandwi
Thank you for the great information, contacts, and offers. The best thing for me is to actually go on some boat demo rides and decide for myself. I'm sure going up from a 20' to a 21' will make a difference but is the difference that obvious with the ride in rough water? Has anyone ever said to them...

20 or 21 footer and we ain't talking about subway sandwiches
My old '83 19' ranger don't have much life left and I've been really considering buying a newer boat if not new. I will be mostly fishing the Delta, Clearlake, Barryessa, and Oroville. Should I get a 20' or 21' bass boat? Will that extra length make a difference when fishing around docks and other t...

Re: Fishing the Windy Delta
Thanks Cooch. You just gave me a totally new outlook in fishing those windy days. I've been launching out of Frank's most of the time and anytime the wind starts to get well over 10 mph, it can get nasty in that big body of water to my tolerance. Your explanation of wind direction in accordance to t...

Re: Fishing the Windy Delta
Thanks Ash. I thought about fishing around that area up to Sandmound but wanted to try a different area. You think Discovery Bay is tough to fish when it's windy?

Fishing the Windy Delta
Where would you fish and launch your boat at the Delta, knowing it will be 15 mph winds or more? I was thinking Discovery Bay or part of the Delta where the pumps are to shield some of the wind. Would you just stay home? Planning on going tomorrow. Love is blind (for fishing that is). Any input woul...

Re: Looking for advice on how to drive in rough water.
I have a '83 Ranger 150 HP 19 foot length. I was thinking even maybe the hull can also make a difference on the way it rides on this older boat. Ive thought about hugging the shore but we noticed huge boulders in the water last year when the water levels were low so we stayed a little further out fr...

Thanks for all the great advice. If one had a jackplate, what position is best? Can that help?

Looking for advice on how to drive in rough water.
I was recently fishing Clearlake and started to head back toward where we launched. We ended having to go against the wind with the lake almost looking like an ocean. We were unable to plane the boat and when we did, the waves acted like ramps where it seemed like we would almost go airborn into the...

Re: Fishing line?
I was mostly concerned with line memory, especially say when fishing weightless senkos. I was thinking it would be harder detecting subtle bites. I do use 5 rods on deck and almost use them all equally in a given day. Maybe I'm just being too anal.

Fishing line?
How often should I be changing my fishing line? How can I tell if it should be replaced. I usually change mine once every month and probably only use it around 2-3 times/mos. Is this an overkill or maybe should I use it longer?

I got this number off their boat located right next to Sugar Barge. A good number to have programmed in a cell phone just in case.BOB G wrote:can someone give me the delta vessel resue number ??
