Re: Low profile tires for tow vehicle - bad idea?
There is something else to consider also, it may have has a lift kit installed as well. Not all lift kits, butt most change the front geometry in negative ways that cause the vehicle handle and or ride poorly and some will never align properly. For a tow vehicle I would take that into consideration.

70 mph on 4 or 12 is stretching it safety wise. 75 on the freeway is lot safer than 55 for all the reasons listed above. On the freeways I am always at 65 to 70 and I have never been stopped yet when towing, CHP just drive right by me. I can say with out any doubt that 55 is not always the best spee...

Ash, Bass Catt has some great battery trays. They are quite pricy though. What I did was buy some of the battery boxes that are easy to find and cut them down to about 2 in tall and used pan head sheeet metal screws to attach them to the boat. Then put a piece of rubber in the bottem so the screw he...

Once you dertemine how far to back your trailor into the water, just full throttle, full trim up and it will push the boat on to the bunks and drive out, no need to hook up the winch the carpeted bunks will hold it place just fine. Takes me about 20 seconds to load the boat and start pulling out. I ...

Just my opinion but I feel a hot foot on any performance boat is more important than the kill switch and life jacket combined. The hot foot reduces the risk of accident, the others try to manage the damage! Would you drive a Corvette hard with a Hand throttle, not the same as cruise control. Running...

Napa sell a vinyl repair kit that works very well. You do have to so the mixing to match the colors though. Makes a permanent repair that is hard to notice if you get the color match. Practice on a hidden piece first.

I replaced my Loomis and Powell rods with Dobyns. My favorite is a 704 Champion, they run about $240. I believe the 704 is the most versatile rod you can own. For what it is worth I make a living working on these rigs and have historically leaned towards Fords and I would not consider anything but a Duramax at present. The only thing Dodge has to offer is the Cummins Motor which can not stand up to the Duramax. Just 45 years of experience talking.

Got to get my 2 cents in here. Monofiliment Super Silver Thread, just like AN 40 only stronger, AN 40 is a IFGA approved line, if rated at 8 lb it has to break a 8 lb, Super Silver thread or Excaliber is not IFGA approved so it does not have to break at its rating and does not! Re: Everyone, Best onboard charger for Optimas?
Personally I would go with the stealth, A 15 or 20 amp per bank automatic charger will not harm a Optima battery in any way, IF they do reach their maximum charge rate they will not continue at that rate long enough to harm any battery. As the battery recovers the charge rate goes down. Totally a di...

Thats why I said absolute minimum. At 40 amps draw you will have about 7% drop on a 20 ft wire which is barely exceptible. Keep in mind 98 % of the time you will be using less than 20 amps.
