Moving Sea Lions has been a failure, as they usually return to their point of capture . Even when relocated during mating season, the captured pinnipeds tended to head back home. any time I hear of a salmonid swimming in circles, I think of Whirling Disease, I'm sure it's been tested for. It's caused by a microscopic parasite that's really difficult to eliminate.

Re: Used Boat Registration in CA

No. You need to fill out the back of the pink slips, and then you'll get to pay use tax on the purchase. The DMV will send you a new title. The CF numbers won't change on the boat with the change in registered owner. If you are an auto club member, they can do all the paperwork in a local office.

United Water closes Lake Piru

Both on the news, and on the United Water Facebook feed, I saw that Lake Piru is closed for all recreation due to Covid-19 concerns in Ventura County and L.A. counties. This could have quite an effect on some tournament organizations that switched tournaments to Piru from other lakes.

Re: Question about Boat Trailer Registration in CA

California loves to do paperless titles for trailers, you have to pay extra to get a pink slip when you register the trailer. You can go online directly to CA DMV to find your registration info. If you're a AAA member, you can go to the nearest office, and they can do it for you!

The materials and glass work of the Bass Cat will be superb. I'd get an XS Optimax over a mere 4 stroke any day as it's lighter, faster, and considered a superior motor. ( I've owned three Rangers, two Tritons, and three Bass Cats)

Your trolling motor has a ton of wire and rotating magnets and etc., so makes a huge magnetic field. Point one antenna seems pretty sensitive to all electromagnetic radiation- mine says to mount at least 5 feet from a radio antenna, over 20 feet from radar. and over three feet from the head unit.

There are several brands of "real" side scanning finders in use on many commercial fishing boats. Of course, the transducers retract into a tube and etc. They also cost far more than the typical bass fisherman units.

Casitas has failed to rise due to the estimate that it will take over 10 inches of rain( like 10 inches in one big event) to saturate the ground enough to allow significant runoff.( although I think the trust funders in Santa Barbara are stealing our water at night and trucking it to Gibralter Lake ...
