As the topic reads... What's too cold? Any suggestions for a Ky boy trying to catch the biggest fish in his lake. I fished 40f water today with a rof12 68'hud. No trout plants, just big gizzard shad in this lake. Notta

Johnny, I am good man thanks for asking. I am hard at it fishing for those brownfish. They are eating that jig right now, so its hard to experiment with anything else. There just aren't many people in the game back east when it comes to true trophy bass hunting. I currently use 4in big hammers mostly on a swimjig head crawling these baits somewhat sucessful enough to peak my interest into the swimbait world. I am leaning towards using the line through style baits ...

Swimbait Rods???

With all the good info on the reel and swimbait head threads. I wanted to get some of your thoughts on the best rods. I am new to the game for big baits trying to soak up as much as I can from you left coast experts. :)
