The shimano crucial series are pretty burly. They are a little bit of money though. Will you post a picture of your CHOP job? i want to cut mine too. Love the stick, but im a pretty small dude so the handle is a little big for me

P-line cxx and Maxima Green are pretty stiff and strong. Those lines can really take a beating too. I fish a lot of docks and skip as well. The Izorline "First String" in blue is also very reliable.

What size and weight is it. For the water around me, my 6" ROF 5 gets bit in the mornings real well. First light on a rocky slope or point. The 8" really isn't that much bigger. From first light till about 10am (on the clearer days) is my favorite.

Ceasar I have one of each and it is perfect. I even started throwing the Small Cracker on my H, as opposed to a crankbait stick, because i like it so much. The XH is a great stick too and handles up to 8" swimmys awesome. Love those Okuma sticks man!

Hey guys, I got my dads 18 foot Gregor when i was 18. I am 26 now and so is the boat. I was wondering if anyone had some insight for me. I need to TIG weld (i think) a small crease in the hull. And, re-power on a 26 year-old transom. The boat needs a full rebuild which is no big deal because me dad ...

Make sure the hook and the eye are in line as well. Sometimes if you are using heavy line and tying a larger know, like a clinch knot, it will not swim straight. Def get a hold of huddleston before you do anything too drastic.

Wow. Imagine that. Doesn't get much better. I use the same soft-ware as butch. Seaguar and CXX. But dont catch as many as he does. My point...Time on the water. Lake knowledge. And raw skill will get you further than line, swim bait or gear. Thanks Mr. Brown. Keep getting after it!

Okuma Guide Series IM8. Reasonably prices and a solid stick. I have a big curado on the GS-C-761XH and it throw 8 inch hudds and lunker punkers fine. Nice bang for your buck

Albright/improved albright all the way. I have fished it with a lot of combos. from 8# test mono and 30# spectra in freshwater to 60# flouro to 80# spectra for 100# yellowfin. Goes through the guides well and is easy to tie. I also recommend some spectra glue for protection. Makes the knot a little ...

45 degree rock slope with some texture change or Timber. First breaks/high spots outside your spawning areas. There is no "bad" structure to fish. But all structure that produces is good! Oh yeah, and where the trout are stocked!

Hudd ROF 12. I think the Castaic Baits are pretty fun to throw and easy to find at your local sporting goods stores. I also would recommend the Cracker or Small Cracker by BlackDog Baits. I know it's not a "Swimbait", but it is fun to throw, catches quality fish and will keep your moral up...

Punker or top water, straight braid. I fish 10 to 20 feet of fluoro (Mono is fine). 20 or 25#. I think green spectra gets bit way better than white spectra. I fish at night a lot and straight braid works for me, but if its light at all i use top shot. All opinion. I think you can put to much emphasi...

Buy Shimano. Just an opinion. Mine last along time and i fish a lot. I would recommend going to the tackle store, asking for one out of the case. Walk over the the rod rack and start putting it on Rods to see if you like it. If you are gonna huck a Swimmy all day you're gonna want to be comfy.

Curado 300. I agree if you are gonna throw a Big Spro or something of that nature the Calcutta 400 is a little more hefty. I Love my curados and Shimano has great customer service.
