I still have the older 1st Gen 4K, GoPro HERO 4. If you can, buy the newest HERO 5. It has voice command feature, which is way easier to operate while fishing. Good luck and thanks!

If you are tossing big deep cranks like DD-22's or the deep driving Evergreen cranks, I'd recommend the new Daiwa Tatula Elite Glass Series crank rod. I use the 8' footer and love it!:

Really depends on what type of cranks (bigger/deeper driving the crank, lower the gear ratio).
