Man, that is horrible.
Very nice guy. Got to hang out a bit at the first 2 HBC's. Not much to say beyond what already has been. But just a real, cool, laid back guy.
Just horrible.

Re: What is the Hook series payback %???
I dont know the percentage, but my buddy and I won one a couple years back, we entered all options but did not get big fish. I believe there were 82 boats and we got a check for $750.
That was the first event of the year, and after that check, we didnt fish another event.

I have fished the Regal, and own a Tierra and SOL. The Tierra is my favorite spinning reel I've ever owned. SOL is nice too, but not worth it compared to the tierra.

no, "T" ing a treble is a way of bending a hook. Muskie guys do it. Especially on their high speed trolling baits. If you dont, you can wear through the clear on a fast trolled bait in minutes.

first guess would be an air leak somewhere between the tank pickup and fitting on the motor. most likely the hose at a connection point, sun baked area, or the bulb itself.

Yeah, why beat it up?
I actually ended up fun fishing DURING the HBC-1 but we stayed inside the marina, which was off limits. I just think that you might as well leave the water fresh for the guys that are playing the game!

Re: Swimbait reel question
There are big baits out there that can approach 100yds with an 8ft rod. Going by IPT I have made casts over 280ft with 20lb. I dont know how much line my 400's hold, but I can get 2 reels out of a 330yd filler of 30lb. So 165 yards sounds reasonable. You can easily cast half of that out. I dont know...

Re: More trolling motor battery questions
I have two batteries for my 12vt too Don. I just alternate them in a non too accurate fashion. They are offset in ages so that one usually takes a dump about 6 months before the other one. That way when one craps out you still have a good one to use while you scrape up the cash for another new one.....

Re: Speaking of Swim Baits
I think that the difference is, or at least it is to me, that the swimbaits that are being knocked off are conceived and built by very small, often 1 man operations. They are also being ripped off by much larger companies most of the time. Its just not cool, IMO.
