Re: Lil Mandeville Island
I completely agree with the people who have posted about navigable waters! I've fished many marinas with the owners telling me I have no RIGHTS to fish there. Been harrased numerous times. This is not my point! Just typing about what I've been told from responsible individuals. Not a reclamation dea...

Re: Lil Mandeville Island
Sorry Cooch, but I think you're wrong here. You say the owners are attempting to reclaim this ground. Reclaim it for what? Farming ground? I don't think so. There aren't any ROADS going to this island. How do they get their farming equipment there? By Barge. Wrong! Just a little too expensive huh! P...

Re: Lil Mandeville Island
Little Mandeville has been flooded for years. It's on all the Delta maps. From what I hear someone recently purchased it for private usage and are slowly closing the entrances to allow the flows, but to disallow boats from entering. Maybe for a duck club or hows about their own private bass pond. Ho...

Carolina Rigs on the Delta
Gonna try some Carolina rigs on the Delta this year for the first time. Have some weightless jigs I'm dying to try out. My question is what type of weights do I use. Most guys use brass worm weights and glass beads I think, but there's also brass worm weights with rattles inside, pre-rigged setups w...

Chatterbaits
Dang, what's up with these "Chatterbaits"? These baits are selling for between 20 and 30 bucks a pop on Ebay. For ONE bait. They are a jig with a blade on top of the head with crummy looking outdated hooks. I know they have won some tournaments lately, but those prices are ridiculous. Coul...

Re: You all got paid?
Dang, I've only caught one. In a Folsom tourney. Small Largemouth, maybe 2 lbs., sent the $10 tag to DFG and never received a penny. Oh well, he/she went back to swim again. That's the most important thing.

Re: Trailer tires
Joe, I use Carlisle now, Marathons before. Both good choices. Carlisles are cheaper though and just as good. Also, the main reason for trailer tire failure is low tire pressure. Someone below said 50 lbs. He's correct. I'd avoid Chinese tires. Had a set that came with a used Ranger I bought, that we...

Re: trailer brake calipers
Also Ken, they sent me these pistons around 10 yrs. ago, but they (Ranger) should still replace yours for free like they did mine. If they say no, ask to speak with someone higher up. Push them! The new ones looked like stainless steel if I remember right btw.

Re: trailer brake calipers
Ken, it may not be the calipers that are causing your problems. I had a 90 Ranger trailer where the brake pistons were made of a ceramic material. Ceramic composite ?? or something similar. Can't be specific there. Anyhow, when they got hot, they would get stuck in the "on" position. Would...

Why???????????
The expensive boat doesn't catch fish. The expensive rods and reels don't catch fish. Nor do the expensive baits. It's the guy/gal who catches the fish!! This whole thread is silly!! You could arm Kevin Van Dam (the best imho) with a cheesy Zebco spincasting outfit for ALL his bass fishing, and he'd...

Legs vs No Legs
Why is this frog gonna be better than Barracks "perfect" frog that came out last year? His bait has no legs and "walks" better. But the Donkey has legs. What's the difference? Do the Donkeys legs float a little bit above the water? Looks like it in the picture. Has anyone tried b...

Buzz bait + Helix
Has anyone tried those Helix buzzbaits? Made in Japan I think. 3/8 with a newfangled type of blade that supposedly lets you slow your retrieve down less than some other buzz baits, but still stays on top. Let me know if you've tried these baits, and what you guys think about them. Thanks.

"skidiots"
Salt, now there's a term I haven't heard before. I'll have to remember that one. That's great!! They'll be out in force this weekend - everywhere. Fish weekdays, or better yet, weekday evenings on the Delta. Its surprising how few are out after around 6:00 pm or so.

Crankbait Rod
Randy, Andy is right on with his answer. If you are looking specifically for a Crankbait rod, then buy a rod labeled as so. Steve Biechman makes gorgeous crankin rods on the Seeker BS 706 blanks that work great for crankbaits, blades and even buzzbaits. He charges around 150 bucks and he builds them...

Boat color
I bought a used Ranger from a guy in Lake Havasu City Arizona years ago, and he swore by the light blue hull color. He fished Havasu, Mead, Powell and other similar lakes. The weather there is usually bluebird, so he figured the fish couldn't see the underside of his boat. Was he right? I have no id...

Good posts guys!
I was also wondering if it was the same as that super glue product you see in every hardware store. That stuff is cheaper. I guess I'll just have to try the cheap version myself and go from there. Thanks for the replys!

Pros soft bait glue
Have you guys tried Pros Soft Bait Glue? I'd like to try this product to save some bucks on torn up senkos and other plastics. Maybe even make some cool new flip bait with my left over bait pieces. Waddya think about this product? Thanks.
