Hey Bustout, the way the Wack A Sack is designed is to be tied directly to the weight and infront of the hook. This will keep the weight as the ballast and the hook in an upright position. That way you can nose hook as well as wacky rig your favorite plastic baits.

Some of the Mercs are sensitive to the exhaust, try messing with your PVS vent plugs, some engines need to have larger vents to allow the exhaust gas to provide slip to get things up and rolling. The next thing it could be is a coil, that will give you the same symptoms.

Ya the EWG looks like it doesn't have enough bite but it does. Once the hook starts the plastic rolls out of the way and keeps on penetrating. The Round bend is a great option too.

I went from using the regular o-ring to using the wacky saddle because the normal o-ring would allow the to rotate and shad on the bottom. The wacky saddle keeps my hook inline with the bait and reduces snagging. Plus the saddle tends to keep softer plastics from folding over, it kinda adds a little...
