Re: Jerkbait Rod----Survey
Aside from a soft tip and moderate action, I find that having some kind of a fore grip, or, at least, a softer front reel locking nut transition, is critical for how I hold the rod when I'm jerkbaiting. Throwing a working jerkbaits, along with walking baits, are the most active retrieves, so comfor...

Re: Jerkbait Rod----Survey
A few years ago I started throwing jerk baits on spinning tackle, after watching other pros do it on various Bass TV shows. After some trail and error, I think it works way better. I found you get longer cast, less arm fatigue and more control fighting fish (especially Smallmouth Bass). Braid with ...

Dobyns 744 vs 735 vs others
Im looking for a 7 -7.5 foot rod.
I need something with good backbone mainly used for a 3/8-1/2 ounce jig rod, possibly cover as a frog rod and texas rig, weightless senko rod. .
Im not sure if i want 7'6. Thoughts on differences and advantages.

Re: Dobyns 766 champion flipping questions??!
The 766 Flip is my personal Flipping rod choice. It has enough tip for pitching smaller baits but has plenty of power for any type of punching. It's a great flippin stick. I would not use for frog rod or jig rod. We have far better choices for these techniques. The 766 is a great flippin stick but ...

Thanks for the responses guys. Getting my first flipping rod, found the 766. I wasn't sure if it is too stiff. Now I know more about what qualities a flipping rod embodies. I'm looking forward to getting this rod and flipping. Thanks Steven
