Could someone have put long nose or alligator gar in there? They'll jump, or roll sometimes. And could be mistaken for a sturgeon.

I guess the backdrop, beds and big fish everywhere, changed the perception to putting five 5 pounders in the boat. I think it's as simple as I just saw a bunch of 5 pound fish, so catching a few didn't seem crazy. If I put that bag in the boat in the summer by punching, flipping, frogging.....I woul...

Degree of angle between rod tip and the point in which the line angles again due to the vegetation you just punched through. Longer the rod, the greater the degree of angle to that point, which should give you better hook set penetration.

Are you asking in regard to water levels? Yes, it's been open all year. I used it about a month ago. Of course there are always issues with the roads leading to the lakes though when these rains happen, potentially causing mud slides. Not sure where you would go to get an update on road accessibility.

I'm in the beginning stages of learning the Delta, but like Nate said, depth is relative. If you think about the contours of most Delta channels, there is obviously shallow grass, then you hit that channel slope (sometimes steep, sometimes not), and that slope has grass growing to a certain depth.
