summer night swimbaiting
A friend and I went ninja fishing at a golf pond. We started out throwing my baby gill for a bunch of small fish. It was alot of fun but I was hoping for some better fish. Here are a couple of the typical small ones. They were a little bit skinny. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v181/Mattlures/01....

Re: 14 pound mono?
a 2 oz swimbait is small and 14 is not ideal but it will work. I generaly use 17 or 20 fluoro. I will never use braid(personal preferance). Too visable and I hate the way it feels and sounds. Mono is ok but fluoro is better.

There are 5 different models ranging from Med hvy to an 8ft 6in XXXhvy. I do not own the rods. I designed them and got a royalty. When they came out I think they were priced too high. Now you can find some at a more reasonable price. I have heard some complaints about dealing with the warrenty so ke...

My favorite lake Jennings has been good to me. Here is the little one. She was not quite 8 but her stomach was totaly empty. When I hooked he, she came to the surface, jumped and barfed up about a 1.5lb trout that would have made her a much better fish. Notice how in the close up pic her belly looks...

If its a weedless, I believe you can bend the internal harness to offset the lean. If its standard one you will probably need to cantact Huddleston.

Depending on the color patern there are as many as 12 steps per side. I have no idea how long it takes per each bait becuase I do a batch at a time. I do have it down though and I can paint pretty fast when I get into a grove. "fast" of course is relative. My fast is probably slow to other...

as with most swimbaits set up like this, it can. It depends on the size of the hook and how straight you insert the hook. If its straight you should be good.

i always visualize where a real bait fish should not be. Where would be too dangerous for a little bluegill baby bass, trout etc. If I know that there is a bunch of gills that are living in some sunken trees then I am going to cast out far past the trees where bass are waiting for a gill to venture ...

Re: Bluegill swimbaits...
Mark is right. In a bait that small the sink rate can be effected by a lot of different things. Water temp, choice of line, and hooks. You can get most floaters to sink very slowly by going up 1 hook size or using a sinking line like fluoro. You can also make a slow sink sink even slower by going wi...

Ok I went back to Jennings and this time I brought my 5 year old daughter Ashlyn. I did not fish, my goal was to get her on fish and have her catch them with as little help from me as possible. So I went to Jennings for some easy catfish and I was not disapointed. We caught double limits in about 2 hours. Once they started to bite you couldnt even use 2 rods. Just one and you had to hold it. Chicken liver was the best bait. No weight and we were fishing close to shore, about 5-15 feet cast...

The fin will grow back. the reason for the clipping is to determaine the population. I went on a shocking boat with the DFG once. Don I agree with adman. You would probably do a lot better if you broke it up into a few groups. Like the baot and all boat stuff.
all swimbait gear and baits and all regular gear and tackle.
That way your not selling things one at a time but you might have an easier time selling everything

Re: Can you change the color of a plastic swimbait?
The spike it dies will work and so will a sharpie. The sharpie will bleed but if you factor the bleeding in before you color the bait you should be able to get some colors you like. It will only take a couple days for it to bleed. Experiment with one bait and see how it looks before you do them all.

Could it be, your storing them in something non worm proof? If the plastic itself is reacting to the surface of the storage container then obviously store them in something else. It is practicaly impossible to determine what is and is not a swimbait anymore.
In the beginning swimbaits were only soft plastic baits now everything is called a swimbait. You would be betetr of just having a big fish tourny most guys would throw a "swimbait" anyways
