Its been a long time since I've posted: Question: My 1998 200 Merc will not trim up under power so I can get the bow up, the boat will only trim to where the boat stays level with not lift. No one seems to be able to give me answer to solve this issue (Merc mechanics too). The trim fluid seems fine....

In regards to the lower unit oil, I suggest one should change the lower unit oil often, even if its sets a while with low usage. Lower units cost $1,500 plus (and that's going back a few years), a bottle of good oil is approx $11.00. And a one-time fee of $10.00 for the oil filler pump that connects...
