Re: Etec, G2 and Merc

I done a lot of research and after deciding I bought a G2. My boat is currently at the dealer so I haven't ran it yet. The biggest negative on buying an G2 is price and the few authorized dealers in this area. My repower is going to cost around $21K for a 225hp G2. That's lake ready. I had to order ...

Re: CA DELTA Any One launching out of LOUS PARK

I've launched there on numerous occasions and haven't had a problem. There's a lot of trash that hangs out down there. I make sure my vehicle is totally empty so I don't get broken into. I don't like launching there but do when the stripers are in that area.

Re: Is the Ulterra a gimmick?

The Ultrex is the real deal for bassboats and that's why they're sold out everywhere. I had auto stow and deploy on a MK Genesis years back and that was a sweet feature. My next TM will be a Ultrex. With that said the Ulterra is a great trolling motor but probably better suited for in more open wate...

If the transom is solid then why mess with it? Add your talon(s) and other upgrades and go fishing. If and when a problem arises fix it. If it ain't broke don't mess with it. If one day the boat isn't worth fixin then swap your equipment to another boat.

It took me a long time to break the DD barrier. Figured out last year that if you fish the delta and clear lake as much as possible during pre-spawn and spawn then there's a good chance of catching a bass over 10 lbs. Even if you don't break the 10# mark your gonna catch a bunch in the 5-8 lb class.

I'm guessing that boat will top out in the low 40's. How fast are you looking to go?
Length will play no part in top end speed. Width and weight combined will probably take a few mph off the top end with what your current boat gets. Heck, being its a new motor it might perform the same.
