Re: Punch baits & color??
Baits: Sweet beaver, Superhog, missile baits d-bomb, or something similar. None of these baits have curled tails so they slip through cover more easily. I agree with what Chad Sweitzer stated before, 3/4 will get more bites; however, you may need more weight to get through the canopy and at the end ...

Re: Your Favorite Chatterbait Rod -> its all preferance
Anything 4 power or a 6 power on the crankbait rods. Dobyns champion extreme 784 or a Powell 806cb will work well; the longer rods help with longer cast and for pitching well.. Usually go 65lb braid to 15-20lb fluoro, it will snap the bait out of the weeds and drive the hook home on bites. Tight lin...

On the bright side Clear Lake just became a closed zone, those big old bass may become more friendly after an absence of boat pressure. That being said I feel for the businesses around the lake who will feel the effects of the closure. However, I believe the closure will be shorter than the 60 day p...

I would ask the lodge staff which guide has lived and fished in the area the longest, some of the guides will probably also be commercial tilapia fisherman. They know where the big bass are because they are where the tilapia are. Also a spainish phrase book can go a long way because the language bar...

you can use mend-it, or your preferred soft bait glue and make them yourself. the tricky part is matching the place to cut the baits so that they match up evenly. good luck

Jimmy87 is right on about the rod. I usually prefer to fish yamamoto hula grubs on 3/8-1 oz revenge football heads because it is cheaper when you loose them, and from my personal observation they produce the same if not better results than skirted football jigs. When I do throw skirted ones, I throw...

I would suggest a Powell 806. I have throw BDS, D-20, LV500, Buzzbaits, DD22, Luhr Jensen Hot lips, speed traps, ect. Even pointers and jigging spoos. This rod will work well with all the baits you listed. It has the capability of launching baits really far, but it is also great for pitching them. A...

The Limit-it darter heads are awesome. As for the baits, start off with something you are confident in. Personally I like robo worms, but there are many good options.

I fished DD22s and Lucky Craft D20s with it at El Salto and it was awesome. Its sensitive but it has enough give that the bait isnt pulled from the fish. It can handle the big girls with no problem too .

I save braid and reuse it as long as it isnt frayed. I normally get rid of the mono. If its recently spooled flouro sometimes i will save some for leaders. In general I believe its best to have new mono, copoly, or fluoro on the reels. Braid last a long time.

Theyre both good. Stripers have a reputation for shreading the wood punkers, which can happen. You'll catch both bass and stripers on both of the baits. I personally like the injected punker because it has rattles and is tough as nails. My suggestion would be to go look at some and pick the one you ...
