IMO shared weight is for team tournaments and there are plenty of those. Real competition is non-shared where the boaters are competing against the boaters and the non's against the non's. The FLW/MLF were/are non-shared. The BAM Trail looks to be a great option.

Re: do professional guides pay use tax on boat ?

A new bass boat & trailer will cost $100+/mo for reg and tax. That is $6K+ for a 5 year period. That seems a little excessive. Anyone who can justify the CA tax is off their rocker. At what point is too much? How much do we have to pay in taxes and deductions before we lose our citizenship title?

It is feasible that 25 and 30yrs ago there were two lakes in CA that had a pure strain of each. Unfortunately, if the results were only based on DNA and not the phenotype the results will be only so accurate. The fact is we have a mixture of the two and so does most of the world.

Re: Lithium batteries

It depends on the application. For the average newer boat in the 20-21ft range I would go with 3 X 12V 100ah batteries for the TM and stay with a high-quality AGM for the cranking. You may need a charger depending on what you have. The cost is anywhere from $2200-3500.

Re: Trophy vs trophy plus

The pitch depends on the lower unit gear ratio that you have. If it’s the lower option, higher numerically then you can run a higher pitch prop. With the lower gear you should run a 23-24 pitch 3 blade prop for maximum performance. Mercury recommends a 24 Fury or 23-24 Tempest. From my experience th...

I'm not sure what you mean about sliding off plane. I would run a 3 blade prop for that application. Prop it so that it hits max rpm without having to raise the jack plate so high that it drops the bow. This should be with the motor fully trimmed up.

I would run lithium's for the TM and a Odyssey/Northsatr 31 for everything else. I have had an issue with a lithium in my track car. The lithiums have high discharge and charge rates. The high charge rate burn out my alternator's regulator which took out everything else.
