An old timer saying hello
This is Rob T, I lived in Bay Area for years trying to learn to fish the Delta and Clear Lake and wanted to say hello to the remaining old guys and mention I'm still fishing, but mostly in San Diego Salt water stuff. Used to fish with my good friend Bill Durbin in Tracy Oasis tourneys Terry Flowers ...

Re: RIP Lewis Andy "Cooch" Cuccia
It's been a long time for me on the forum. Used to post in the 90s about the Delta and followed Cooch's advise. Still love his article about the Viper boats tournament years ago! Sad to hear of this loss to the community. This, along with the passing of my bass partner Bill Durbin earlier has left m...

Hmm, I kinda think personal responsibility starts BEFORE the situation gets to a dead bunny. Leastways that's what I was taught. What happens after the bunny dies is owning up to the consequences of your initial lack of personal responsibility. On another earlier note, I believe in hard facts, not l...

Question for tourney bed fishing??
Cool stuff! But it makes me wonder: Would it be fair if a team in a tournament used a camera to find deep bed fish and/or bed fish in suboptimal conditions and used the camera to find and monitor the critters for when to set the hook?
Just wondering if I need to buy one of these gadgets!

Without getting too detailed, I'll give one good example. Pacific Lumber Company was a good logging operation, the familiy that owned it for nearly a century established a profitable and SUSTAINABLE business that was a major contributor to the community of Carlotta in Nor Cal. The reason it existed ...

Not an expert, but have driven a couple of different bassboats, including a Tracker ProTeam 185 with 90 Hp Merc 22p SS prop, and 6 inch manual jackplate, Ranger ZX20 with 225 merc/jackplate, and my current boat, an Allison XB2002 with 200 Hp Merc Race and 30p SS ET prop/ with 12" jackplate. The...

Nope - you should all use 90 hp motors...
I've been fishing Clearlake and the Delta out of a 90 hp tracker for several years - caught plenty of fish-cashed some checks too. Then again, I just got an Allison XB2002 with a Merc Racing 200/sportmaster/Mazco setup. Should be worth a few extra MPH. C-YA. HAR! Good luck, be careful, and God Bless...

They used to have a clinical research group focusing on Celiac disease, and I seem to recall they were running trials with new therapies to help folks. she'll spank you good. Yep, your'e right about the go fast crowd - I bought this off a guy who fished the FLW series out of it back in Mississippi and thereabouts. Prior to tourney fishing, he had a Merc race O/B rated at 280 hp on the tail end. I can't imagine what that was like. You gotta be caref...

Comments on bassboat gas mileage
Got a new used fiberglass bass boat (first glass boat). Wanted one that my old 6 cyl mitsubishi could tow over the hill from Capitola to the Delta and Clearlake, and that would also get decent gas mileage on the water, so bought an Allison XB2002, 1994 with a Merc. 200XS optimax with modified sportm...

Howdy folks, Bought a new used boat, 20 fter, and it's in Mississippi (yeah, I know, why not buy one here? - It was a great deal that I couldn't pass up!). So, I may go get it myself, but wanted to know if others on this site know of businesses or individuals that transport boat&trailers cross c...

Thanks Tracy Oasis/Tracy Bass!
Just finished fishing the Tracy Bass TOC out of Tracy Oasis Marina. I've fished several tourney orgs on Clearlake and the Delta, and have really enjoyed every one of them, but wanted to give a shout out to Terry Flowers and Corinne (Terry's BETTER half - HAR!) for running an outstanding Amateur tour...

Re: Looking for Advice On Tourny fishing
Hey Gunny, I live in Capitola (on the coast, south of Santa Cruz), and drive over to fish the Tracy Bass tourneys, which only allow amateurs/weekend wannabes like me. A great, laid back tourney run by Terry and his wife out of his Marina, Tracy Oasis. I've had lots of fun in it, and everyone's been ...
I agree, the livewell argument doesn't hold water!
HAR! But seriously folks, the livewell/aerator systems, along with the catch and release additives one can use now versus years back when we had 7 fish limits are superior overall today in most modern boats.
Good luck,
and God Bless,
Rob T

and have cashed checks on five fish limit tourneys. I'm a weekend wannabe, but am willing to put in my time and money (and have done so), since at the end of the day when I fish tourneys it's not to hope I'm luckier than the other guy, it's to prove (at least for that one day) that I'm better than t...

One key point regarding solo teams...
That others have alluded to is the 5 bass limit for any team that many orgs now use. I think this low of a limit brings too much of a luck factor into the game, as well as allowing for the potential for "funny business" from solo anglers that others have hinted at, altho I must say that I'...

Don't get me wrong, as a bass fisherman, I was glued to the TV set and loved it - I could relate to the competitors struggles out there. Thanks Bill Durbin!
Went out last Thursday (July 7th) with Bill Durbin for some bass fishing. I had not been out in quite some time. Had a phenomenal day despite howling winds. Went into several areas of his and caught over 30 fish, the great majority of which were quality bass going 2-3 Lbs. Sure wish we had been fish...
