Re: Split Ring Pliers
I this may sound sorta corny, but try and teach your fingers to open split rings without the pliers. I did this since I was a teenager and I can still do it to this day, with the exception of some musky lures as the split rings can be really hard to open. But with bass lures, no problem at all. The ...

Re: A type of striper...
I have fished there a few years back, that and apache. We got smallies and largemouth, but that was in the winter. I do have a topo map of both if you want it. I am moving to Illinois in 1 week, so I will no longer need it.
Re: Depressed
that's why I'm moving. I leave for Illinois on April 30th and I ain't looking back. Better job, twice as much money, lower cost of living, cheap homes, fishing for free on most lakes, no one to kick you off the water at sunset, more species - smallmouth !!!!! , snowmobiling in the winter - I could g...

It's about time Mark. Anyone would be stupid not to have this guy in their boat with them. I wish I had the entry fee money, as I would like to do some events again.

Re: What time does DVL Open*NM*
Not early enough. Careful you don't hit one of those little gopher like animals or whatever they are - on the road up to the lake. Worlds may collide and the oceans will rise, life will cease to exist as we know it.

I get the same e-mails about a boat that I sold 6 years ago. I reply to the e-mails and offer them a " bank account " number and my address also. I tell them to make the check out to and address as follows Seymour Butts 6969 Falatio Dr West Hollywood , CA and then I give them the rejection...

Re: Confused ?
There are quite a bit of fishing videos that have been filmed in So Calif and alot of them were done " behind the line " - a.k.a. buoy line and when the lake (s) closed. They do it for the footage I guess. Kinda blows too, did you see the DVL piece where they are fishing right along side t...

You are so right dude. In this day and age, with technology and all - you would think that a few hours later, after weigh in and everything has been tabulated, that they would put it online. I think what it comes down to is the computer savy people and those of us who utilize the internet are a mino...

Dave Strege is way cool. He is one of the few writers who is genuine. I have fished with him many times, and each trip always ends up great. Have you seen his book that just came out ? Celebrity Fish Talk. It is way cool. He interviewed alot of famous people and got their fishing stories too. Take a...

I have fished there on a weekly basis for quite some time, and ya I gotta agree with ya, watch out for the rental boat mongers. Take em to Diamond Valley and just drift some nightcrawlers around the thermocline or hit the bluegills in the backs of the coves. It is really easy there, but the heat can be extreme. Maybe go late in the day or early in the morning. I have taken alot of people there ; it is almost like fishing bac...

2nd place is like kissing your sister. But I do have to hand it to the guy. Getting 2nd place this many times at the classic, you know he has what it takes. Under the pressure and rotten fishing conditions. Some of those bass weighed in looked like swimbaits when they were held up !
