Re: Unprecedented Clear Lake Fish Die-Off: Dead fish islands about the size of three football fields.

I agree with Toddmac above. Clear Lake is known to have fish die-offs in warm weather. Who's to say that that this doesn't help control population densities and make it the great fishery that it is. Look at what the population density of spots have done to the foothill lakes, and I would bet that Bu...

What I'm wondering about the Oroville dam and spillway failure is it's effect on down stream fisheries. Apparently the lake is overpopulated with spotted bass, and what's going to happen if tens of thousands of them end up in the Delta....probably not a good thing. Pine Flat had it's 10 to 15 year p...

I've always believed twisting the line is not the right way to tie this knot. Probably for the last 30 years, I've been "wrapping" not twisting the line with this knot. I think the difference is the twist puts the line in a "shear" angle.

Comment above about drag being biggest problem with line twist is dead on. I would also add that you don't have to reel against the drag to cause twist. Just the fact that the line is going off against the drag is causing one line twist for every rotation of the spool.

Used to work for an RV co. Was told that with trailers bias ply tire stood up better against scuffing that occurs when trailers with out shocks bounce up and down on the road. Up switch will stop when trimming while running, so lower unit stays in water and picks up water to cool engine. If yours is not set right to do this you may lift motor too high and damage your motor. Trailer switch bypasses this cut-off so you can load on trailer.
