side imaging
going to replace my old old finders and one of many questions I have is side imaging. do I need it.The lake I fish is wall to wall docks and I spend pretty much all my time flipping, pitching, skipping them, so I'm usually fairly close. Does it work that way, being not more than 20' away? Looking at...

I personally think boat flopping, letting them flop around on the carpet is a hell of a lot more harmful than somebody keeping some

Re: Jig head epoxy
Sounds like a business to me! I've seen your jigs, long ago, things of beauty. I have a good friend who makes great working topwater swimbaits, beautiful paint jobs, much in demand by locals on the lakes he fishes. so far has stuck to his guns & make only what & when he wants. thanks, all th...

Re: Jig head epoxy
Hey jigging4bass, thanks so much for your help, I will check that site out. A million years ago I used to make ball head jigs for myself & some friends, unpainted, always worked great. What do you think, do we make to much of it? Course I'm on a lake with no real pressure. Thanks again

Re: Jig head epoxy
Wow, that's some great info, never realized I was so low tech. Best for me has always been the clear polish. The only lake I fish anymore is wall to wall docks, have my goods days & not so good skipping jigs behind them so they can take a beating. Honestly don't know if the chipping makes a diff...

Been making my own jigs for close to 40 years and have yet to find a clear that doesn't chip, is there such a thing? Always buy unpainted heads cause the painted seem to chip just as quick or quicker, Use fingernail polish for color. any thoughs? Thanks

one thing to check is the oil line that runs from the oil reservoir on the engine to what I believe is the oil pump, came off on my '96 150, running straight gas, fried it.I guess it's not uncommon for it to happen, people get rid of the reservoir & mix their gas.Thought mine would run forever

my beef is fish handling. jerking them in the boat & letting them flop around the carpet while the angler does his dance or whatever. I always go back to the slime coat issue which they brought up in the article. there are always going to be tournys & tv shows, commodity, not treasure

that cooch is pretty sharp. been using a keeper like on a blade on the frogs for a few years now which helps flipping but skipping dock they eventually just split open in front & were gone. still nothing like it as a cold water trailer, trying to buy every jar I can get my hands on.

way back in the 70s used to fish a really small, clean pond in Oregon that was at the base of a hill where the dump was. there was an old 32 ford in it, you could watch smallmouth come out of it and nail a grub or whatever. small fish but pretty cool

swinging these fish in, wacking them against the consoles, letting em flop around around on the carpet can't help. what ever happened to the slime coat issue? major league fishing land practices should be a given
