MikeD,
Not a problem. If I'd taken a little more time to think through my initial post it probably wouldn't look so harsh either. Also, you did make a valid point, I just thought it was directed straight at me so I went on the defensive..

This isn't geared to any of you at all, just a general statement: My opinion on topics of this nature is to just never talk about it. Its not like we're going to stop using plastics if we find out its harmful and the last thing we need is to give ammunition to the "other side" if they happ...

Salter Scales are probably the most accurate scale available and are typically certifiable but they're very expensive. As for actual records you need a certified scale which is standardized by the government, I.E. your individual county will certify a scale for you. (if its certifiable) I've had ok ...

I've got a ton of them as well and I definetely think they make a difference. I tend to hold my grips loosely and when I get those crushing, hard reaction bites I tend to slip off the grips. With the reel grips I don't slip off anymore. They may not work for everybody but they sure work for me.

'07 Curado 200 DHSV

Quick question, my reel seems to have a lot of back play and slop in it. For instance, if I hang a bait on a guide then tighten the line for storage when I come back to it the bait is inevitably dangling from the rod rather than still held tightly in place. If I'm working a bait in there is always t...

I'd use a stiffer rod than that for sure. Its not a big bait but its got a big hook in it and you always have the potential for that BIG bite. You're talking about potentially needing to sink a 5/0 worm hook through a lot of plastic and into a 6, 8, maybe 12 pound mouth. If you can do that with a gl...

Bite me, Everyone has their preference and it just depends on how you play your fish. I choose to use 30 lb P-Line CX Premium. I use this line because its VERY thin, same diameter as most 20 lb lines but I get the higher breaking strength. The beauty of this is that I CAN'T break it but the fish don...
