I agree with Moleman...I own both of those sticks and absolutely love them but the 908 is the rod I'd use for baits in the 10-plus ounce weight category.

I could have used some of that info last week up at Clearlake! I was finding one and two pound dinks and shakers but struggled to find the kind of fish you were catching. Nicely done in both the areas of information and video production.

Re: Dobyns 733 breaking

I've only broken one of my Dobyns rods and there's not a doubt in my mind it was pilot error. It was one of the RM 805 CBs and I had made thousands of casts and rocked back on hundreds of fish with it, so there's not a doubt in my mind that somehow I had damaged that rod either while transferring it...

Re: Best squarebill rod for roll casting for under $110

Just last week I bought a Dobyns FR 705 CB with the intention of giving it to my wife. She doesn't care for my CB 805's due to the extra length that I prefer. I took the 705 out for a test-run yesterday just to make sure the reel I put on it was a good match. I had a square bill on it and was fishin...

I've been throwing swim baits since 1999 so I have owned a bunch of rods. Some of them are custom sticks and I have bought and used several different production rods. Re: Gear Ratio reel for 6-8" Hudds

I'm going to emphasize what Gary has already stated. My fatal flaw when it comes to fishing Huds is poor pacing. Most of the time, fishing a Hud too fast for the conditions and water temp completely nullifies its effectiveness. For me there is no question that fishing a 5:1 reel helps me slow down a...
