Re: Rod Racks for '85 Ranger 370V
I have an '84 Ranger 395V. I hate to admit how many rods I stuff in the lockers. I use rod covers and they work great. If you put any type of rack in the lockers you will limit the number of rods.

Re: going to powell for very first tyme
We were there a couple of weeks ago. Be careful when fishing near the sheer canyon walls which are all over the place. A couple of boaters were killed while we were there when a 250' sheet of sandstone fell onto their boat. I'm serious!! It was our first time there also. Fishing was fair.

The "deal" is we bought and paid for this water. Fact is, we will be lucky to get 60% of what we paid for this year. It's a contract. Some of that water might be from Kern County banking facilities which are used to store water underground in wet years and pumped out in dry years. The &quo...

I have an '02 Chev. 1/2 ton PK. Sounds like similar problem I had at 37,100 miles. Dealer replaced worn "intermidiate shaft". Parts and labor $175. Don't know if letting it go on would cause safety or more costly repair later on.

DFG regs say it is unlawful to take any fish which has "not voluntarily" taken a lure in its mouth. You have to let the fish tell you of its action was "voluntary". Dumb rule. BASS tournament rules specifically refer to fishing for bedding fish. If fishing for bedding fish, the h...

Just as I suspected, your statement that DWR was pumping over 10,000 cfs was a gross misrepresentation of fact. The links you furnished as a reply to my inquiry indicate otherwise. The 10,000 cfs figure is the maximum capacity of the Banks Pumping Plant near Tracy. Pumping activity is adjusted on a ...

This is not a question of pumping more. It's about pumping at all. The pumps at the Banks Pumping Plant have killed 37 Smelt since the first of the year. That's one too many for the judge. It will take at least 15 months to go through the process to obtain a "Take Permit". If the pumps are...

I totally agree. The only reason I can see for Trip Weldon not to include this as a reason for DQ is perhaps he couldn't prove the fish was actually dead. Shame on Ike. Thanks for the GQ article. I've noticed some of his "attitude" in several of the coverages of tournaments. The comments in the article by some of his peers do not bode well for his future in the sport. He appears to be approaching the "T. Owens" status. If it isn't about me (Ike)...

Nothing to do with salinity. See http://www.pagophilus.org./harbour.html. I might guess the seals and sea lions have overpopulated San Francisco Bay and they are expanding their range for forage. Wait til they find out how easy it is to catch black bass compared to various salt water species.

NO, NO, NO - Do not depend on your homeowner's policy to cover anything more than a rowboat. Your buddy did not have "free" coverage on his HO policy. He may have added it via endorsement, but it isn't free. This goes for liability coverage as well. If you hit a jet skier or someone's dock...
