Re: flouro recommendations (I usually use P-line)

If you can stomach the cost Sunline Sniper and Shooter have done very well for me.

I use braid to floro on all my rods so I don't go through as much line as most. I've been happy with the Tactical for certain techniques but I prefer the Sunline for Cranking and flipping a drop shot on the D.

The issue you can run into with "frog" rods is casting accuracy. Most toads aren't that heavy so they don't load the rod tip to cast accurately. I use a 733 or 734 Dobyns on 50lb braid. Hope that helps. Thank you, That is the problem I run into. On my reg. frog rod the toad is so lite tha...

I agree with giving the hunters a wide berth and I try to respect their space. The problem I have is with guys who set up on points in line with major travel lanes. The D has been fishing small and tough lately.

I was EXTREMELY fortune the other day to land my new PB and crush my previous by almost 2lbs. That said, i only landed 8 fish in 6 hours of hard fishing in good areas and favorable tide.

Re: What line do you use for crankbaits?

I've cranked on the D for years with straight 30lb braid with very good results.

On lakes I do use a floro leader.

All my cranking rods are glass or CB composite rods so they have the flex built in. It's what has proven consistent for me.

The punch bit can be good if you find the right area at the right tide .

Re: CA DELTA FISHING (Lost and Confused Begginers)

All of what they said....

If you want to get bit flip a weightless senko in the trough between the weeds and rocks on an outgoing tide. You may not get big fish this time of year but you will get bit which will give you an idea of the timing the use for a feed window.

Wind direction, boat traffic, bottom composition and the amount of grass play into the clarity. Some areas can have 3-4' of visibility at times.
