I have actually seen them open the west ramp after Labor Day, when the wind direction was bad, and there was a tournament going on, so the lake was open. It can be done, but it involves changing the play at the line of scrimage. Not everyone can do that.

If you leave it in the water, you'll wind up with some big hardwater deposits on your hull. They can grow to look like barnacles, and that can't be good.
Check out the hulls of the rental boats, or some of the aluminum boats that have been berthed for a while at local marinas.

You can use a digital hand held scale if you have it certified, and then use the same weigh-in bag for each load of fish. Our club has done that in a pinch, and, as long as the same scale and bag are used for all, and the bag is emptied of water each time, it's fast and accurate.
