If you can afford it, I would just get the Fortrex. I have had both. The Fortrex is much easier to lift and far more stable when stowed. The locking mechanism of the Fortrex is very secure and does very well in rough water.

Re: How do you keep your batteries charged with no outlets?

Here are a couple of things that will help. First, try using the Stealth Charger. It will charge your batteries every time you run your big motor thereby reducing some of the overall battery charge time. Second, get yourself a good solar panel and connect it to the Stealth Charger. I used to have to...

Re: Onboard Battery Chargers?

I would consider the Stealth Charger. You can get the AC and DC unit and it weighs about 1/3 of the other chargers out there. Smaller too.

The DC unit charges your trolling motor batteries when you run your big motor. The AC unit charges all your batteries when you plug it in.

I gave the original response of this post. I still have mine and they work fine. Some of the older 24V trolling motors had the ability to be 12V also. Given what you said, there is no need for this switch any longer. Be sure you have the right size wires for your trolling motor. I think it depends on your dropshot rig and the application. For more shallow environments, I think it is debatable if one should pay the price.
