Re: Father's Day Delta report
Give it a week, it'll get better. Most bigger fish go nocturnal this time of year. However, you will still run into quality fish around the right grass with current, docks or mats with access to deep water.

Thanks a bunch for the info. I'll take the advice to try B & W's first to get a feel for the Delta. I'll take a look at Pirates at a later date. I have another question. I was reading the article on Bobby B's tourney win, and he mentioned something about grass being pelletized. I gather this is...

Re: Delta Boat Launches
I've launched at Pirates Lair for years. It's not the easiest and the skeeters there remind me of Benning but it's doable. I launch there more if I'm fishing until / after dark. B&W is definitely nicer and only a 5 minute run away. I fish that section more in the fall. The Delta is an awesome pl...

Re: A Rig , set up questions..
I agree with Jason. I start with 1/4oz on bottom and 1/8oz on the rest of my hooks. It's not a heavy rig this way but still fishes deep. Jason makes one of the very best A rigs too. Lots of rods will handle this set-up. 806 CB, 805 SB, but one that really shines is our new 804 SB. Great stick plus ...

Duck hunting on public land is even worse. Guys will crowd each other without a thought and seem to forget that there are guns involved. It's a social problem and plenty of the 30+ year olds are just as bad. Hell, try saying good morning to someone at the ramp or gas station and see what kind of res...

Jerk bait / topwater rod recommendation needed
I'm in the market for a rod that I can use for jerk baits and topwater walking baits. I've been looking at the Powell Max3d 6104. I like the 6'10" length and the softer action for throwing jerk baits. Does anyone own this rod? I'm wanting to stay around $150. Any feedback will be appreciated.

A Powell 736 for mats, Dobyns 735 for pitching and more accurate casts. That Powell is all back bone but not much for accuracy.
Quantum Smoke Speed Freak, 65lb braid.
Frogs differ a lot, I fish the conditions and what the fish want .

The full moon shut the bite down significantly from last week. There are definitely fish spawning and on beds.
Last week I had 26lbs, yesterday, 13lbs. All of those were guarding males, no bigger females.
It was 50/50 reaction bite and wacky rigged plastics.
