I mainly use 12lb test Sugoi fluorocarbon which has the diameter of 10lb mono or less; and I also use 12lb McCoy copolymer line. One or the other works better on any given day, probably due to the difference in line density.

I agree with NaCl that a strong and large base of tournament anglers is critical to a sponsor-funded pro circuit, and although I would love to see this out west, I do not believe it is likely to ever happen. Scott D., Maps from chips cannot be saved in a GPS unit, and they cannot be transmitted through a network cable; so yes, you will need a chip for each unit. The GPS unit runs the map software from the chip to display it on the screen; rather than saving it into memory and then running it. Only GPS c...

Steve,
Excellent choices! Did you network them together on the LowranceNet cable?
Yes, the problem is that you didn't connect the power cable that goes to the antenna. This is a very common mistake. Hook up the power cable on the antenna, and it will work great.

Marc

On your first question, I have been told (I am not an electrical engineer nor have I tested this) that 192 kHz (what Lowrance and others used to use) and 200 kHz (today's standard) are close enough together that they will still cross-talk, so they don't make units ...
