I'm embarrassed to admit I don't know the bait called "Mother". If you can give me the size and weight of this bait I'll be able to help. We do very well with our SB rods. Thanks to many of the SB manufacturers recommending our rods as a great match to their baits. Much appreciated too!!!!...
Re: Lure care
This may be dumb but I've done it this way forever. I stick hook point into my boat carpet on a compartment lid. I let the bait hang straight down and dry. I don't push hook past the barb, just the hook point so no carpet damage. Simple and maybe lazy way but it does work.

The best way to store 30 rods is in a rod rack. I usually have a bunch but I'm out right now. I'll try and send a pic of a simple one.
I have seen a bunch of guys build a hanging rack out of PVC pipe. These work well too.

THX for question on Dobyns Jig rods. In this case I'd say yes the DX 744C full or split handle is worth the extra dollars. I rarely recommend DX rods as guys think I'm pushing higher end. I only use higher end for "touchy-feely" baits. Jigs, worms, nail weighted Senkos, or for deep water. ...

There's a belief that glass is more forgiving with lunging-pulling bass and not ripping trebles hooks out. Many believe you'll land more CB fish with glass. It's a good argument but personally I don't believe it "IF" you have a good, true Mod-Fast action graphite rod. The problem with Glas...

The rod I'd recommend is 764 CBRM. It's a 7'6" cranking rod. We have lots of 7 footers that will work great but the longer rod lets you cast further. This is one of my personal favorites. If you want a 7 footer look at 704CB or 705CB. We have both Glass and Graphite. It comes down to the angler...

That is very expensive decorative wrapping and it’s supposed to look like that. It’s done on purpose and reduces weight from all the added epoxy.
Thanks,

Big divers need a rod that will load and cast the bait. The whole key is getting distance so the bait can actually work it's way down to the max depth and stay in the strike zone as long as possible.
