The bunks are easy to do yourself. Buy treated lumber to match the size of the bunks and some carpet. Glue and staple with Monel Staple and use stainless bolts re attach. As far as the brackets go if they are rusted to the point where they won't hold up then you need to find a trailer repair shop or...

Re: Hog & Beaver summertime?

They go into dead end sloughs in the spring to spawn and avoid the current. In the summer current is your friend and many fish have come back out to the river. Try fishing closer the the mouth of each slough and on the moke itself. Lots of good crankbait water all over the place.

Looking for one of these cranking rods. Not glass. Would prefer to deal with someone local for a pick up. Camanche is never as gin clear as Pardee can get. Always has a little tint to it but I would still consider it clear. Lots of skiers and pleasure boaters too so lots of mudlines now. Pinks, purples and browns show up nicely for the fish up there.

I saw a video where Mr. Dobyns said to just send the section of the rod where the model and action labels are. Put it in a padded envelope so it wont tear and that way you won't have to pay to ship the whole thing. Get your hacksaw out!.

Yes, Definetly only effective in those types of areas with clean bottom, defined weed edges, etc. Not just summer for me though. Pre spawn near areas where they go into flooded islands. Usuallly a numbers game for small bucks.

Re: Shakey Heads On the Delta

Over the course of a year I probably catch 80% of my fish on shakeys out there and I fish there alot. I use both med and med/heavy spinning rods but I've been spanked too many times playing around with lighter tackle. 10lb braid with a 10 or 12lb flouro leader. I pour my own and until this year used...

Good watch. I wish I had the discipline to throw that stuff. Yesterday was about what I expected. We could scratch a few fish at most of our spots but never found them bunched up. Threw a spook in the afternoon and stuck a 5.5lb spot that I let one of my boys reel in. Maybe should have started throw...

Re: Contrasting Customer Services

This came up in another thread but here goes. The rod companies don't make the guides. Sometimes the ceramic pops out of the guides. The tip is the best one to lose because all you have to do is get a new one, heat the old one up a bit with a lighter and pull it off, and glue the new one on. Simple ...

It's your trailer actually. Your equipment is fine assuming its well maintained. That bulky trailer on a light jig actually has alot of wind resistance. I throw 1/4oz footballs alot and I can even tell the difference between a double and single tail grup in the air. The single tail flies farther obv...

733 or 734 are good for those baits.
None of these rod companies make the guides. Sometimes they pop out on any brand of rod. Cheap fix at most tackle shops and most companies would send you a guide so it matches perfect.
